Hilda Vermillion has spent more than twenty years doing one thing: helping people live beautifully in homes that are genuinely good for them.
With over 1,000 spaces designed across two decades, she specializes in luxury modern and transitional interiors and brings rare expertise that most designers never develop: the ability to create homes that are extraordinary in beauty and uncompromising in health.
She pursues the lowest possible chemical load, the smallest possible carbon footprint, and the highest possible standard of human wellbeing in every project. The goal is to get as close to zero as budget and reality allow.
Her work goes beyond the interior walls. Hilda designs with intentional attention to acoustic comfort, reducing noise clutter and sound pollution inside the home, and to responsible exterior lighting that minimizes light pollution, protects nocturnal wildlife, and, where applicable, meets turtle-safe standards. Beauty that doesn't cost the world around it.
Her custom lighting design work has been commissioned at the highest levels of the luxury residential market, with individual pieces fabricated by nationally recognized artisan studios. She approaches every project with the same standard: if it isn't both beautiful and genuinely healthy, it isn't finished.
Hilda charges a flat fee for all design services. You know exactly what you are paying before a single decision is made. No hourly surprises, no ambiguity, just a clear, honest partnership from the first conversation to the last.
She is based in Raleigh, North Carolina and serves clients locally and virtually across the country.
