Charming Curved Kitchen

A study in balance and sophisticated contrast, this kitchen was designed to be the undisputed heart of the home. Timeless design principles seamlessly blend with modern luxury to create a space that is as functional for a busy family as it is perfect for entertaining.

The design journey began with a classic two-tone palette. Crisp white shaker cabinets on the perimeter keep the space feeling bright and airy, while a deep, sophisticated gray on the island and base cabinets provides a grounding, elegant anchor. The real showstopper, however, is the artisanal backsplash—a graphic floral and geometric tile that infuses the kitchen with bespoke personality and serves as a stunning focal point behind the professional-grade range.

Dramatic Two-Tone Cabinetry: A timeless combination of white uppers and chic gray base cabinets creates visual interest and depth.

Artistic Statement Backsplash: A beautiful patterned cement tile in shades of gray adds a custom, graphic element to the design.

Statement Island Countertop: A large, curved island is topped with a stunning quartz countertop finished with a thick, mitered edge. This technique gives the countertop a substantial, luxurious appearance, showcasing its beautiful marble-like veining.

Stunning Architectural Details: A custom-designed curved tray ceiling above the island perfectly mirrors its shape below, adding architectural grandeur and drawing the eye upward.

Jewelry-Like Lighting: A trio of large, ribbed glass pendant lights hangs gracefully over the island, providing warm illumination and acting as the kitchen's signature accessories.

Professional-Grade Appliances: Fully integrated, high-end stainless steel appliances, including double wall ovens and a beverage center, provide ultimate function without sacrificing style.

Thoughtful Finishes: From the modern matte black hardware to the durable apron-front sink and the rich, dark hardwood floors, every detail was meticulously selected to complete this cohesive and breathtaking design.

These clients were amazing to work with!  They encouraged me to find unique fabrics, finishes, and materials that matched their styles.  More importantly, they share my passion for fighting human trafficking.  They patiently waited for one-of-a-kind hand-knotted rugs where the family received a full living wage for creating them.  
This project would not have been possible without the meticulous, beautiful work done entirely by Wake Remodeling.  
The result is a welcoming family home with a fabulous kitchen and hidden design features around every corner.

Trans-modern New Construction

New construction customized for a world traveler, who appreciates clean lines, modern touches, and comfortable furnishings.  A custom coffee nook houses a office space, and unique lighting increases the home's productivity.  A Nest Whole Home Automatic System gives the owner complete control, even while travelling.  This town home lives large and luxe. 

Global Golf Contemporary

When an adventurous family moves from Argentina to Raleigh, North Carolina, they finally get the home, and the life they so richly deserve.  This family of 4 chose to build a new home with traditional bones on the outside, but inside the furnishings are anything but old fashioned.  The lines are clean and thanks to the Closet Factory's Sarah Tiani, even the golf clubs stay organized.  Liane Peterson installed Hunter Douglas Solar Shades throughout the home to add privacy and protection for the the home's new furnishings.  Though the home borders on minimalist, it is still very warm and inviting.  The sofas are luxurious and ultimately comfortable, and each area rug tells a story and softens the expansive hardwood floors.  This home also knows how to play!  With a custom billiards table on the 3rd floor and an indoor putting room, there is always some fun to be had.  More photos coming soon.

It is such an honor to work on this local piece of architectural history.  The new owners have allowed me to keep the bones of this home intact, while updating it for a modern family.  Keep watching this page as the pieces come together for this extraordinary home.  We took an old stone fireplace andcombined concrete with authentic Venetian Plaster to give this massive fireplace a facelift.  This amazing home is finished and waiting for it's professional photo shoot, but in the mean time, here are few photos.  Just wait til you see this super star finished!

This "New Old House",  tudor style home needed a plane, a train, and a crane to be all the owner desired.  She flew to New York to pick up the vintage Swaroski chandelier that hangs in the foyer.  Getting it back home was a story only she can tell, but in the end, both she and the chandelier travelled by train.  Finally, the old English pub travelled across land and sea for over 3 months, but arrived in excellent condition.  It looks pretty good considering it was carved in the mid 1800's.  The home was literally built around the bar as it had to be lowered by crane into the basement before framing could be completed.  The hand carved vanity was purchased at the same time as the pub, but isn't technically an antique.
